New parkway habitat at St. Mary's Star of the Sea School

Students and community members, under guidance of the Buena Vista Native Plant Club, have converted a 200ft x 10ft parkway at St. Mary Star of the Sea School into a native, drought tolerant habitat. This new habitat will be featured in this year's 8th Annual Seaside Native Plant Garden Tour Sunday April 18th at 2pm. New Demonstration Habitat at Shawn Canyon in Serra Mesa

With the help of over 70 volunteers, we planted almost 300 native shrubs and trees, restoring Shawn Canyon and creating a demonstration habitat that will help promote native landscaping. Stop by for a visit to see our interpretive kiosk and new native plant garden. The site is located on the western end of Shawn Ave., just off of Mission Village Dr.

Navajo Canyon gets a flyway friendly make over

Volunteers planted over 300 native plants and trees to restore a degraded section of Navajo Canyon. Navajo Canyon is just one of many urban canyons in San Diego that supports resident and migratory wildlife.
